"Hey D.O.G.S.!" Dads Of Great Students!
Seattle Hill Dads, Step Dads, Uncles, Grandfathers. Father Figures - YOU have a unique opportunity to spend a day on campus with your child and make a difference for ALL students at Seattle Hill Elementary!
WATCH D.O.G.S. is a nationally recognized non-profit program that was started in 1998. It is is the safe school initiative of the National Center for Fathering www.fathers.com which involves fathers and father figures to help create a more safe and secure learning environment in our nation's schools. Their stated objective is to: "Engage men, inspire children, reduce bullying and enhance the educational environment at your school."
DOG DAYS!
We hope to have a WATCH DOG (or two!) on campus every day of the week. Watch D.O.G.S. will engage in various activities such as welcoming students upon arrival, reading with students, tutoring small groups in math, assisting during science labs or art lessons, having FUN at recess, and eating lunch with your own child! A single WATCH DOG works in several classrooms over the course of the day. Sample DOG Day
Next Steps:
Register as a WATCH DOG
Complete and return necessary registration/volunteer forms. You can drop off forms in the main office or give to your child’s teacher. If you have questions, please contact:
Tom Stingily, Seattle Hill Top Dog
Stephanie Mueller Seattle Hill Office Secretary
Ryan Painter Seattle Hill TOSA
Attend WATCH D.O.G.S. Pizza Kick-Off Orientation Event
Your questions will be answered while you nibble on pizza with your kids! We will have registration forms and schedule sign-ups. This is a great "Dad & Me" annual event we hold at the start of each school year. If you are unable to attend, WATCH D.O.G.S.information packets and forms are available to download. See Tab: Forms/Flyers.
Schedule a day to volunteer, such as your child's birthday. You are welcome to volunteer for multiple days, if you are available. Once forms are verified you are ready to be a SEATTLE HILL WATCH DOG! Please register with Volunteer Spot under the sign-up tab.
Thank you for your interest in the SEATTLE HILL WATCH D.O.G.S. program! The benefits are imeasurable – time spent with your kids, helping them learn and grow, support for our teachers and faculty, and added security and safety for our students. You’ll be "Dog-Tired" at the end of the day, but hopefully you’ll leave with a great sense of accomplishment and satisfaction!
Have a great DOG DAY!
